Flynn's Classification Of Computers
Flynn's Classification Of Computers was based on new concept which is Instruction Stream and Data Stream for Parallel Computing. All the computers classified by him is not parallel computers.
Instruction Stream and Data Stream
• The term 'Streams' refers to a sequence or flow of instructions or data operated on by the computer.
• In the complete cycle of Instruction Execution, a flow of instructions from main memory to the CPU is established. This flow of infection is called Instruction Stream.
• Similarly there is a flow of an operands between Processor and Memory bidirectionally. This flow of a instruction is called Data Stream.
It can be said that the sequence of instructions executed by CPU from the instruction team and sequence of data (operands) required for execution of instruction from the data stream.
